Abstract: Empoasca vitis(Gothe)is one of the most serious pest insects on tea trees in China.In this paper,the advances of Empoasca vitis(Gothe)in the main biological characteristics,ecology and control technology were summarized,including Empoasca vitis dominant specie identification,biology,population dynamics,spatial distribution,genetic differences,communication behavior,different tea varieties adaptability as well as its agricultural control,physical control,biological control and chemical control.The research emphasis of Empoasca vitis Gothe in the future was also proposed.
