Abstract: Balsam pear rootstock cultivar,Yin Zhen No.1,was a F1 hybrid developed by crossing the generation inbred lines,i.e.,L2008-S4-1as the female parent and L2008-S4-4as the male parent.The hybrid had a welldeveloped root system,high moisture tolerance,strong resistance to fusarium wilt,good adaptability for grafting with balsam pears,high sprouting rate,and high yield of 2 700- 5 300 kg per 667 sq.m.The yield was 109.4%higher than the non-grafted seedlings,and 16% higher than the local gourd rootstock.Thus,it was considered suitable for promotion.
