Abstract:
SRAP was applied for the determination of the genetic diversity of 24 hybrid cultivars of
Cymbidium. Eleven polymorphic primer combinations were screened to result in 119 amplified DNA bands. Of the amplified DNA, 102 were polymorphic, at a ratio of 86.1%. The average number of polymorphic loci amplified by each primer was 9.3. The genetic similarity among the 24 germplasms ranged from 0.43 to 0.98, averaging 0.67. The UPGMA cluster analysis classified the germplasms with a similarity coefficient of 0.69 into 5 groups clearly showing the genetic diversity and relationship among the hybrids.
