Abstract: A new variety of longan,Quanlong157,was bred by single plant seedling.The plant had a strong growth potential,early fruiting,easy ear formation and high fruit setting rate.The fruit matured from late August to early September in Quanzhou,Fujian.The fruit was nearly round in shape with brownish-yellow shell and an average single fruit weight of 10.5g.Its flesh was milky white in color,crisp in texture,highly sweet and strongly aromatic with a hint of milk flavor.Its edible rate was 65.9% and soluble solids content 22.7%.
