Abstract:
The effect of calcium on the growth of loquat seedlings was studied. The results indicated that loquat seedlings grew better when the concentration of calcium was 0.4 mmol·L-1.When the concentration was higher or lower, negative effects resulted. At calcium concentrations lower than 0.4 mmol·L-1,the plant height increased with the concentration increase. In the 11 th month the stem diameter was significantly correlated to the calcium concentration. But this correlation did not exist when the concentration was higher than 0.4 mmol·L-1.When the calcium concentration was below 0.4 mmol·L-1,the differences on fresh and dry plant weight, root volume, stem growth and diameter among treatments were significant.
