Abstract: Controlling the severely spreading Eichhornia crassipes has been a top priority project for the Shuikou Reservoir in Fujian.This article describes the situation prior to the implementation of the "Land-Water Mechanical Salvaging Technique," objectives set forth for the project,methodology development and detailed equipment requirement and operation procedures of the control technique.It is hoped that by promoting the application of this newly developed method,the invasive overgrowth of Eichhornia crassipes in the reservoir,lake,river,inland water-network could finally be controlled.
