Abstract:
The membrane lipid peroxidation of Anthunium andraenum Lind under the low temperature and the effect of cold hardening were studied. The results indicated that cold hardening could lessen the increase of membrane lipid peroxidation, electrolyte leakage rate in leaves, and the decrease of moisture content, chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rate in leaves, at the same time, promoted SOD and CAT activity, and increased the stabilization of POD activity under low temperature stress, so enhanced cold resistance of Anthunium andraenum and prolong the critical time of the plant death under low temperature for about 2.5 days.
