Mathematic modeling on growth of Dehua black chicken

  • The growth curve of Dehua black chicken from 0 to 18 weeks was fitted with three nonlinear models.The correlation coefficients(R2) of the chicken’s growth data with the Gompertz,Logistic and von Bertalanffy models were 0.9998,0.9987,and 0.9996,respectively.Using the Gompertz model,which had the highest R2,the maximum applicable adult body weight was found to be 1754.7g,the critical body weight,815.22g,and the critical age of the chicken,8.819 weeks.
