Abstract
One hundred 30-days old,Fujian yellow譚aihangshan crossed rabbits were divided into 5 groups for the experiment. They were fed with feed containing 0%,5%,10%,15% or 20% of Spartina anglica meal for 50 days.Effects of S.Anglica in diets on the growth performance and blood biochemical parameters of the rabbits were determined. The results showed that(a) addition of 15% S.anglica cut the unit feed cost by 11.58%(P0.05) and the weight gain cost by 11.63%(P0.05),which resulted in an improved gross profit by 6.79%(P0.05),without apparent effect on the animal's feed intake;(b) the serum total protein and albumin increased with increasing S.anglica content in the diet;(c) the serum total protein and albumin was the highest when 15% of S.anglica was used, but no significant difference among the groups(P0.05) was observed;(d) the concentrations of triglyceride and cholesterol declined with increasing S.anglica in the feed;(e) the concentrations of triglyceride were 10.13% and 11.39% and those of cholesterol 8.48% and 10.30% lower in the treatments of 15% and 20% of S.anglica, respectively, than the control(P0.05);and,(f) no significant difference on the activities of 4 serum enzymes among groups(P0.05) was found.
