Breeding and application of new watermelon graft stock variety Fengzhen

The new variety Fengzhen for watermelon graft stock originated from hybrid of calabash.The grafted watermelon showed high disease-resistance to watermelon fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.niveum), high cold-tolerance, high affinity with watermelon and high survival rate, the yield and quality were also high.It over-comed the shortcomings using dresscalabash gourd and squashas stocks and had excellent heterosis.
