Abstract
A protein family with relatively conserved sequences, MADS-box participates in a series of plant development processes by combining CarG CC(A/T)6GG elements to regulate the expression of downstream genes. There are 76 such genes in rice plants. This article summarizes the functions and mechanisms of MADS-box genes involved in regulating rice floral organ development, flowering time, vegetative growth, and stress responses were reviewed. It will help to deepen the understanding of rice MADS-box family genes, and provide a theoretical reference for the follow-up study of its molecular regulatory network and the study of MADS-box gene family in other species.
